New leader for Kinetic Construction
Kinetic Construction, one of Vancouver Island’s largest contractors with more than 135 employees and offices in Victoria, Vancouver and Courtenay, has a new chief executive.
Employee-shareholder Tom Plumb is taking over from Bill Gyles, who founded the company 32 years ago and served as its president and CEO. Employee ownership has been a hallmark of the company for more than 25 years. Today there are 15 employee shareholders.
“Kinetic is an example of what can be achieved when you gather great people, provide a healthy and progressive culture, and let them do their work,” Plumb said in a statement. “I’m excited to work with this exceptional team as we continue in our vision to grow in the Vancouver Island and Lower Mainland markets, as well as expand the number of employee shareholders.”
Plumb has worked at Kinetic since 1999 and was the company’s branch manager in Courtenay for a decade. He graduated from the B.C. Institute of Technology’s building technology program and is a gold seal project manager. Gyles will assist with the transition and will mentor other senior employees.
Kinetic’s board of directors includes Chris Chalecki, Victoria branch manager; Katy Fairley, business development manager; Micheal Gareau, corporate controller; Mark Liudzius, senior project manager; and Mike Walz, Vancouver branch manager.
