Deuce Coupes arrive for capital show

As the Beach Boys chimed, “Little Deuce Coupe, you don’t know what I got.” What Victoria has got is the world’s largest gathering of 1932 Ford Deuce Coupes. The dazzling cars began to roll out from the Black Ball Ferry terminal on Thursday for Northwest Deuce Days this weekend. The event, held locally every three years, has attracted more than 1,100 registrant­s from Canada, the United States, Australia and New Zealand. It’s the eighth and largest event so far.

Northwest Deuce Days with more than 1,100 registrati­ons from around the world, the largest collection of Deuces for viewing is around Victoria Inner Harbour. Saturday’s highlights include the Poker Run with 400 cars at Clover Point, starting at 10 a.m. and heading along Dallas Road and Beach Drive to Cattle Point and the Gala Dinner at Westin Bear Mountain with car viewing at 6 p.m.; northwestd­euceday.com.
