Jaguars on the Island this Saturday in Oak Bay
The big cats of the automotive kingdom gather for the largest Jaguar Clubs of North America-sanctioned car show in North America on Saturday.
Jaguars on the Island 2016 is a Concours d’Elegance classic show with more than 300 Jaguar enthusiasts and in excess of 140 of the luxury cars, from classics of the 1940s up to new. The featured Jaguar model for this year is Modern Jaguar Saloon — S-Type and X-Type.
This is the 12th anniversary of the gathering, with representation by owners from Vancouver Island, the Lower Mainland, Calgary and the Okanagan, with U.S. vehicles from Seattle, Portland and as far as San Francisco. Expect to see a large collection of classic and vintage Jaguars including the XK120, E-Type, Mark 2, Mark 5 and Mark 7 saloons.
Owners can enter their vehicles in one of two main classes — the Concours (judged) or Enthusiast (non-judged) display class. Jaguars attending can range from totally restored models and originalcondition“Preservation Class” cars to daily drivers.
A food concession will be on site. Net proceeds from the event will go to Victoria Hospice.
Free admission to view. Owners start to set up beginning at 9 a.m., with the show open to the public 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday on the grass at Windsor Park in Oak Bay. For more information, go to vijaguars.ca.
