Shakespeare once wrote “That which we call a rose, by any other name

would smell as sweet.” Unlike that young Montague who loved a Capulet, Dwight School Canada has the freedom to change for it’s own future happiness.

Since opening in 2009, Dwight has grown into the vibrant community it is today with the help of their partner, The Dwight School in New York City. This partnership has been a mutual benefit and they remain a valued friend. In order to follow the mandate of their parent company; to grow and build relationships internationally and to assist in bringing high quality education to cities around the world, Dwight School Canada has opted to enter into a new partnership with the Brookes Education Group.

What does this mean for Dwight? As one of the founding schools of the Brookes Education Group, Dwight School Canada will change its name and start the 2016 academic year as Brookes Shawnigan Lake.

Meet Brookes!

The Brookes family of schools spans three continents, with campuses in the top-ranked countries for education and opportunity: Canada, Korea, United Kingdom and the United States.

Brookes Shawnigan Lake is host to a vibrant learning community where each student shares in a journey of selfdiscovery and personal growth. The aim is to inspire students to become academically engaged, physically healthy, artistically sensitive, service minded, globally aware, and rich in character. A co-ed day and boarding school, Brookes offers grades 7–12 and welcomes 150 students from 15 countries for a diverse learning experience.

Using the International Baccalaureate as its platform for learning, Brookes students are supported in a caring environment and given opportunities to learn about themselves and to take action in areas in which they are passionate. Brookes teaches about global issues by connecting ideas and stories locally, and strives to use the environment as a canvas for learning and action. Graduates move forward with the tools they need to thrive in the complex world beyond high school.

Brookes embraces creativity, builds character and fosters connectivity to deliver superior educational experiences across all Brookes campus locations worldwide.

This change heralds a new chapter in the life of the school as they blossom in this exciting period of growth. Plans are moving forward for a second campus in the Westshore, and the school has entered the candidacy phase for the Middle Years Program of the International Baccalaureate.
