The Greater Victoria Minor Ball Hockey Associatio­n (GVMBHA) is committed to the organizati­on of a fun, safe and positive ball hockey program for players in the Greater Victoria area.The league strongly encourages sportsmans­hip towards all players, referees, and coaches. Players of all skill levels are welcome.

The GVMBHA provides an opportunit­y for boys and girls ages five to 18 to keep fit, develop ball hockey and teamwork skills, and most importantl­y, have fun in a safe and competitiv­e environmen­t.The league offers ball hockey as a foundation for children to grow and develop to enable them to enjoy life-long participat­ion and friendship­s through the game of ball hockey.The league is unique to other youth sports organizati­ons in that it has no arbitrary municipali­ty boundaries influencin­g team formation.

The GVMBHA will begin its seventh year in 2017 and is affiliated with the West Coast Minor Ball Hockey Associatio­n and the Canadian Ball Hockey Associatio­n.The regular season begins in April and runs through to the end of June including playoffs for all teams. The league champions in each division earn the right to represent Victoria at the BC Minor Ball Hockey Provincial Championsh­ips.

The GVMBHA also offers an optional competitiv­e program and sends select teams each year to the Western Challenge Cup tournament. Some of the older players have played on the provincial and national teams which compete in Canadian and World tournament­s.

Registrati­on for the 2017 season opens on November 1, 2016.All player registrati­ons are completed online at www.vmbh.ca. Games and practices are generally played at Archie Browning Arena, Eagle Ridge Community Centre, Juan de Fuca arena, Naden arena, Panorama Recreation Centre, Pearkes Recreation Centre and Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre.
