1 Up Single Parent Resource Centre seeks peer helpers for single parents. Volunteers will participate in 10 training sessions which will help develop their skills in a variety of areas, including problem solving and crisis management. Skilled volunteers will help provide single parents with strategies to help them cope with day-to-day stress. Arabic Speakers: The Inter-Cultural Association of Greater Victoria is looking for Arabic speakers to serve as community connections or life skills volunteers. Reception Volunteers: Together Against Poverty Society (TAPS) seeks front desk reception volunteers. No reception experience necessary; training is provided. Volunteers must have good communication skills, an ability to manage in a busy work environment, crisis management skills and a non-judgmental attitude.
