- MARIO ANNICCHIARICO

Gordy Scutt’s final round 3-under 67 at Royal Colwood on Tuesday gave the Olympic View assistant pro his second PGA of B.C. Championship title in three years.

Scutt, who opened with a 1-over 71 on Monday, edged Phil Jonas of Hazelmere (71-68) and Luke Bogdan of Ledgeview (69-70) by one stroke to claim the $6,000 top prize. Bryn Parry of Point Grey finished fourth after rounds of 71 and 70.

Birdies on Nos. 16 and 17 gave Scutt the big win.

“It was nice to have a good finish like that. It feels pretty good. I hit my driver really well and that gave me decent chances,” said Scutt, who claimed the 2014 event at Point Grey.

The winning stroke came on No. 17 after a solid drive left him with 110 yards into the green. He hit his gap wedge to within two feet for the tap-in birdie.
