Home Depot pulls ‘peeping’ display

TORONTO — Home Depot Canada has pulled a Halloween window decoration that mimics a peeping Tom from its stores after a complaint from a customer. The home renovation chain said it took “immediate action” to remove the Scary Peeper Creeper from shelves after a customer raised concerns about the product. The CBC reported a woman complained the decoration — which is attached to a window and looks like a lifelike man peering inside — makes light of a real and legitimate threat to women’s safety. Home Depot Canada said it reached out to the person who made the complaint and apologized, adding the product is not in line with the company’s “core values.”
