2 arrested in alleged sex assaults at Quebec university residence

-

Quebec City police have arrested two men in connection with alleged break-ins and sexual assaults at a university residence.

One of the accused has been released on a promise to appear in court at a later date.

The other suspect, Thierno-Ourny Barry, 19, was arraigned Saturday and faces various charges related to alleged break-ins. He has not been charged with any sex-related offences.

Police received 15 complaints of break-ins last weekend at the Université Laval residence, including four of alleged sexual assault.

The university said on Saturday the two accused men were students and have since been expelled from the school.
