UVic Vikes men defeated by UBC-Okanagan

UBC-Okanagan defeated the University of Victoria Vikes 3-2 in a Canada West men’s soccer game Saturday night at Centennial Stadium.

The result was largely moot as UVic (5-10-1) was eliminated from the Canada West playoffs on Friday night despite a 3-1 victory over Thompson Rivers on a hattrick by Isaac Koch.

In women’s Canada West soccer action, the playoff-bound UVic Vikes (5-4-4) played to a scoreless draw Saturday in Winnipeg against the Wesmen.

In women’s rugby at Lethbridge, the UVic Vikes beat Alberta 22-17 in the Canada West semifinals and will meet the Calgary Dinos in the championship game today.

The UVic Vikes began play in the Ryerson women’s basketball tournament in Toronto with a 73-70 loss to the host Rams, who were national championship-game finalists last season.

The Vikes responded with a 60-43 victory over Western Ontario in their second game.
