Are you a Social Senior?
A s we get older, it can become all too easy to lose our existing social connections and hard to build new ones. For some, walking into a party is enjoyable; small talk and meeting new people is fun. We often call these folks Social Seniors. Then there’s the rest of us. Some social events are awkward or even uncomfortable; it’s easier to stay home.
As we age, we understand the importance of staying physically active, monitoring our health and eating well. Equally important is to have supportive and loving relationships and friends to connect, talk and laugh with. It can be tough to do, but the benefits are worth the effort. Silver Threads Service provides opportunities and support to help you connect in an environment where you can learn how to be a Social Senior if you aren’t already.
The Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner program at Saanich Silver Threads, 286 Hampton Road, is offered twice a month on Wednesday evenings.
