Learn about Woodwynn Farm
Farm tour and information session
Saturdays, 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. Woodwynn Farms, 7789 West Saanich Rd., Saanichton
Woodwynn Farms’ two-hour guided farm tour and information session is offered every Saturday to those who are interested in learning firsthand about this theraputic farm for the homeless. The tour is lead by Woodwynn Farms Founder and Executive Director Richard Leblanc.
You will learn interesting facts about past, present and future activities on the 193-acre farm; walk the unique one-acre Woodwynn Peace Garden and Labyrinth; learn how the garden, plants, sculptures and vision for this art project related to peace came to fruition; see firsthand the many farm-based projects completed by talented Woodwynn Farms participants; visit the vegetable gardens, greenhouses, woodworking shop and other farm areas; learn about the livestock, gardening methods and farming activities; and have an opportunity to ask questions during both the outdoor tour and indoor info session
The tour is free of charge, though donations are appreciated.
Woodwynn Farms operates a year-round indoor farm market, situated in the farm’s original 1940’s dairy barn. The barn’s interior has been beautifully restored while maintaining much of its original character and features. The majority of the interior work has been meticulously completed by Woodwynn Homefulness Program participants. Come take a look at this wonderfully restored piece of Saanich Peninsula’s farming history. The market is open Tuesday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
