Find out who just flew into Uplands Park

-

See nesting and migratory birds at Birding in Uplands Park, Saturday at Cattle Point.

Join expert birder Geoffrey Newell of Friends of Uplands Park to observe the migratory birds of spring.

Every year, sea birds visit the area, part of the Victoria Harbour Migratory Bird Sanctuary.

Participants can wander through the easy paths of the park to listen to the songs of birds soon to be nesting.

Those include the Spotted Towhee, Chipping Sparrow, Orange-crowned Warbler, Darkeyed Junco, Song Sparrow, Anna’s Hummingbird, Bushtit, Chestnutbacked Chickadee and Bewick’s Wren.

Bring your binoculars and dress for the weather.

The event is free to join and is suitable for those 10 and older. Meet at 8 a.m. Saturday at Cattle Point at Uplands Park.
