2017 CARE Awards Call for Entries
VICTORIA—Victoria Residential Builders Association (VRBA) announced the Call for Entries for the 2017 Construction Achievements and Renovations of Excellence (CARE) Awards of Vancouver Island.
“CARE Awards recognize outstanding projects by Canada’s leaders in sustainable West Coast design and construction,” says Maurizio Conforti, Chair of this year’s awards. “The public is invited to vote for their favourite during the People’s Choice Award contest in September.”
Entry deadline is Monday, June 12 at 4 p.m., when all entries must be received at the VRBA office, #1-3690 Carey Road, Victoria. CARE Awards entry forms and criteria are online at
www.vrba.ca. Entrants must be members of the Victoria Residential Builders Association (VRBA), a registered non-profit organization promoting education, professionalism, consumer awareness and housing affordability.
Gold winners will be announced at the CARE Awards gala on Friday, Sept. 29 at the Fairmont Empress Hotel. Prior to the event, the public will be asked to select the winner of the annual People’s Choice Award from among the CARE Awards finalists. Project photos will be displayed at Hillside Centre and at:
www.careawards.ca. Voters are entered to win a stay at Long Beach Lodge Resort (longbeachlodgeresort.com), 2002 CARE Awards Project of the Year.
CARE Awards finalists are selected by a panel of industry professionals using criteria such as architectural design, quality workmanship, creative use of space and energy efficiency. Categories are: Residential Planning Design & Construction; Interior Design; Commercial Planning & Design; Customer Service; Sales & Marketing; Special Achievement; and Special Interest.
“The CARE Awards event is a members-only competition to ensure standards are maintained,” says Casey Edge, Executive Director of the VRBA. “Industry professionals with an interest in the CARE Awards are encouraged to apply for membership in the Victoria Residential Builders Association.”
