LOS ANGELES— Guns N’ Roses bass guitarist Duff McKagan and his wife, Susan, have put a price tag of $3.85 million US on their home in Sherman Oaks, Los Angeles.

Set behind gates, the Spanish hacienda-style compound dates to 1935. Mosaic tile, wood-burning fireplaces and exposed beams are among the features of the fivebedroom, five-bathroom main house, which has a subterranean wine cellar. The master suite features soaring vaulted ceilings and two walk-in closets. The detached guesthouse, which opens to a shaded veranda, contains a living room, a bedroom, a kitchenette and a bathroom.

There are stables, a barn converted to a gym/office and an art studio/bonus room. Outdoor entertaining areas include a swimming pool and built-in barbecue.

The half-acre property has mature palms, jacarandas, bougainvillea, fruit trees and a circular driveway.

McKagan, 53, had a 12-year stint with Guns N’ Roses in the 1980s and ’90s, returning to the band last year. He also founded Velvet Revolver, has done solo work and performs lead vocals for Loaded.

Sting’s NYC digs have field of gold

Here’s another chance to live like a rock star. Sting and Trudie Styler have listed their New York City penthouse for $56 million. Set in a limestoneclad building along 13 metres of Central Park frontage, the duplex penthouse was designed by modern traditionalist architect Robert A.M. Stern.

Sting’s duplex takes in Central Park and city views from windows on two levels and from the nearly 400-square-foot terrace.

The 5,417-square-foot residence features a foyer with a winding staircase, an open fireplace that serves as a room divider, three bedrooms, a home office and 10-foot ceilings. There’s a spiral staircase in the kitchen for access to the master suite, which features dual dressing rooms.

Among community amenities are white-gloved building staff, a landscaped motor court, garage parking and a 14,000square-foot fitness centre with a sky-lit lap pool.

Sting, 65, has won 16 Grammys as a soloist and member of the Police. Among his solo hits are Fortress Around Your Heart, Fields of Gold and When We Dance.

Osbourne changes his day-to-day reality

Some celebrities seem to move around every couple of years. Among them are television personality and producer Jack Osbourne and his wife, Lisa.

The couple recently put their traditional home in Studio City, Los Angeles, on the market for $3.449 million.

The New England-inspired spread, built in 2014, sits behind gates on more than a quarteracre of grounds.

Long on curb appeal, the twostorey home features horizontal and shake siding, white trim and a covered porch near the front door. Sets of arched windows line the front of the house, adding to the East Coast vibe.

A formal dining room, a living room with a fireplace, a home theatre, an office, five bedrooms and seven bathrooms are within the more than 5,600 square feet of interior space.

Outside, there’s a covered patio with a fireplace for entertaining. A swimming pool and spa, lawns and a barbecue island complete the grounds.

Osbourne, 31, the son of Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne, has appeared on The Osbournes reality show and Dancing With the Stars.

As a producer, he has credits that include the television series Alpha Dogs and Osbournes Reloaded.

Osbourne and his wife bought the house three years ago for $3.2 million, records show.

Dog Whisperer likes leafy area

Cesar Millan, of Dog Whisperer fame, has found a new place to sit and stay in Los Angeles County’s San Fernando Valley, buying a home in a leafy Encino neighbourhood for about $2.783 million.

Millan’s new house, built last year, combines elements of the East Coast-inspired traditional and farmhouse styles with white board-and-batten siding and deep eaves.

Within the 5,400 square feet of open-plan space are a living room with a fireplace, a formal dining room, a centre-island kitchen, a den and an office.

A pass-through connects the kitchen and dining room. Tucked beneath the staircase is a temperature-controlled wine room.

In the master suite, a freestanding two-way fireplace sits between the bedroom and a sitting room. There are five bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms in all.

A saltwater swimming pool, a built-in barbecue, lawns and landscaping fill out the backyard.

Millan, 47, gained fame as the self-taught dog-training star of the television series Dog Whisperer With Cesar Millan. He hosts and produces the Nat Geo Wild series Cesar Millan’s Dog Nation with his son Andre.

Former Tori & Dean house back on market

Los Angeles Galaxy midfielder Jermaine Jones has put his place to kick it in Encino on the market at $4.495 million.

Jones bought the gated Mediterranean estate from reality show stars Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott in 2011 for $2.5 million.

If the place looks familiar to would-be buyers, that is because it was regularly featured on Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood from 2007 to 2011).

Today, bold colours, wallpaper and murals enliven the living spaces. A cabana with a bar/kitchen and bathroom was added in the backyard and sits at the end of the swimming pool.

Included in the more than 6,700 square feet of interior space are a centre-island kitchen, formal living and dining rooms, six bedrooms and 7.5 bathrooms. The great room is lined with French doors that lead to a covered patio and the third of an acre of grounds.

Jones, 35, joined the Galaxy this year after three seasons in Major League Soccer with the Colorado Rapids and the New England Revolution. He has played for the United States since 2010.
