Why: This year’s TD Victoria International Jazz Festival hosts a few big names, including soul siren Mavis Staples and blues-rock guitar slinger Elvin Bishop. ROCK

What: Ryan Adams with Karen Elson Where: Alix Goolden Performance Hall, 907 Pandora Ave. When: Sunday, 7 p.m. Tickets: Sold out Why: Those who were in attendance for the 2015 Victoria debut by Ryan Adams, who performed with a broken rib, have been waiting anxiously for his inevitable return — which explains why tickets to his Alix Goolden Performance Hall concert were scooped up almost immediately. Couple that with an intriguing opening act (singer-songwriter Karen Elson, who also happens to be the former wife of Jack White), and you’ve got what should be one of the shows of the year in this market. — Mike Devlin, Times Colonist
