Nanaimo votes July 8 on new councillor

Nanaimo residents go to the polls July 8 to choose a new councillor to fill a vacant seat at city hall.

Polls will be open between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. On Protection Island, voting will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Advance voting is available 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on June 28 and July 5 at Nanaimo Alliance Church, 1609 Meredith Rd.

Thirteen people are running in the byelection to replace Wendy Pratt, who resigned. The next municipal election is in October 2018. For more information, go to nanaimo.ca/goto/elections.
