The kind of cynical ploy that turns the public off

-

Re: “Transformed Clark offers platform with ‘humility, openness to change’,” June 23. I am reminded of the idiom “a leopard can’t change its spots” when I read the B.C. Liberals’ new platform as put forth in the throne speech.

I wondered how Premier Christy Clark can stand there and smile one day, as she recites her austerity budget while condemning the NDP and Green platforms, then turn around a few days later (after her poor showing at the ballot box) to set out the NDP/Green platform as her own.

This kind of cynical ploy, this hypocrisy, is what turns the public off. Let’s hope the young voters are not taken in, and that they do get out the vote at the next election to give her and her party the boot. Harry Jordan Sidney
