Clark’s conversion came late in the day

Re: “Green leader can help avoid an early election,” June 22. Geoff Plant’s interesting perspective ignores a couple of key points.

Green Party Leader Andrew Weaver met with the B.C. Liberals soon after the election outcome was finalized. Can we assume the premier wasn’t promoting the same agenda during those talks as she presented to the electorate this week? Weaver’s comment, “We’re really excited to see that the Liberals have had an awakening at the 11th hour” (Times

Colonist, June 22) answers that question. The electorate can be convinced of Christy Clark’s sincerity as she supports each of these issues as leader of the Opposition. Won’t it be wonderful to have unanimous support from all sides when the new government takes power and presents these policies from their election platforms to the legislature?
