Davis back to host Trading Spaces

- ERIN JENSEN

The return of Trading Spaces will feature a familiar face: Paige Davis.

The bubbly star began her hosting duties for the TLC show in 2001.

The network announced Davis was leaving the show in 2005 as it shifted to a host-less format. She returned to the show a few years later, remaining at the helm until 2008.

In a video accompanying the network’s announcement, Davis said she was excited to have her old gig back.

“I will be hosting Trading Spaces again,” she said. “I am back at TLC, back home, back where I belong, and I am so thrilled.”

The home makeover show, in which two teams swap properties to creatively redecorate assigned spaces within a limited period and budget, ended in 2011. The network said in March that the design series would return.

“TLC is back into home and property with Nate and Jeremiah by Design, our new show helping distressed homeowners turn disasters into dream homes,” TLC president Nancy Daniels said in the March announcement.

“We are thrilled to expand in this space, and what better way to do that than to bring back Trading Spaces, the series that put property on the map.”

After leaving Trading Spaces, Davis returned to the stage. She has previously appeared on Broadway as Roxie Hart in the musical Chicago.

“I’ve had a great time since Trading Spaces,” Davis said in the clip.

“I’ve been doing theatre, I’ve been doing dance, I’ve been on and off Broadway.

“I am shooting this video here in my home, and I cannot wait to come to your homes.”
