Being prepared for war doesn’t prevent it
The most asinine television commercial I have ever seen is the one where the fellow makes a statement that sounds as if it came straight from U.S. President Donald Trump. He claims that the only way to prevent a war is to be prepared for one.
Wow, what ignorance. The only way to prevent a war is for no one ever to be prepared for one. For that to happen, everyone would be thinking peace, not war. But as long as our world is governed by leaders who are completely motivated by two of mankind’s worst imperfections (ego and greed), there will always be wars, which bring only temporary peace.
We have already fought one Korean War, and what kind of peace did that bring? We backed out of that one, then totally ignored for years the fact that North Korea had a madman preparing to unleash nuclear destruction on the whole world.
Now we have two idiots with too much power, both fully prepared for war and dumb enough to start one. We have two options, either let them start something that could destroy our whole planet, or they had better stop threatening each other and find a peaceful way to stop this nonsense.
Being prepared might momentarily prevent a war, but not forever. The only way to prevent a war is to get rid of all weapons and strive to find peaceful solutions.
