Classic Boat Festival. The 40th annual festival starts at noon with the arrival of the honorary commodore and participat­ing officials aboard the festival flagship vessel.

The 149th annual Saanich Fair Salutes Canada & Heritage Breeds and Seeds. A Labour Day tradition filled with food, exhibits, midway rides and animals. This year’s musical highlight is Kim Mitchell, performing Sunday, 8 p.m., with Jason Buie opening at 7 p.m. Fair runs Saturday to Monday at Saanich Fairground­s, 1528 Stelly’s Cross Rd.; saanichfai­r.ca.
