Dobres, who often plays alongside Daniel Lapp in the fiddle maestro’s many projects, will be joined by Oliver Swain and Paul Dowd for his appearance Thursday at Hermann’s Jazz Club. Dr. Jane Vermeulen, founder of Vets for Pets, the volunteerd­riven clinic that cares for animal companions to the homeless and low-income community, will appear as a special guest to put the film’s subject matter into perspectiv­e.
