Times Colonist writes a headline for the ages
Re: “Phoenix airport ups parking fees,” Nov. 4.
In 1929, Claude Cockburn, a journalist at The Times of London, allegedly wrote an article headlined: “Small earthquake in Chile. Not many killed.” For many years this was judged to be the headline least likely to tempt its subscribers to read the underlying story.
I think the Times Colonist has finally beaten this classic with its own entry: “Phoenix airport ups parking fees.”
Well done!
