Celebrating the Magic of Mayfair

Today, more than 4 million people each year visit Mayfair and that support has helped make them Vancouver Island’s premier shopping destination and Victoria’s leading fashion-focused shopping centre.

On behalf of the staff and retailers at Mayfair, thank you for voting us Victoria’s best shopping mall in the Times Colonist Reader’s Choice Awards.

It’s an award that means more to us than any other because it comes from you, our customers. Since we opened in 1963, our goal has been to provide our guests with the best shopping experience possible.

Customer Service: The Mayfair Difference

At Mayfair, we’re shoppers too, and we know that sometimes it’s the smallest things that can make the biggest difference in your day. That’s why we go the extra mile to make your shopping easier and more enjoyable by offering services like iPad stations, coat and parcel check, portable phone chargers, tourist information and transportation assistance. We also offer complimentary local magazines, gift wrapping, baby supplies, stroller and wheelchair loans. And if you have any questions or comments, just text us at: 250-800-6100 and we’ll get right back to you.

Christmas at Mayfair

Christmas really is the most wonderful time of the year, especially at Mayfair. This year, we’ve transformed the centre like never before with spectacular new holiday decor, roving carolers, pop-up stores including Lululemon, Seaberry Garden & Flower and Yogibo, personal shoppers, and holiday lantern and wreath making workshops. To give you more time to enjoy all the festivities, we’ve extended our hours to 9 p.m. nightly (7 p.m. on Sundays).

Celebrating the Spirit of Giving

We’re proud to support our community and causes that are important to our customers. This year, Christmas at Mayfair gives you many ways to give back: “Paws & Claus” holiday pet portraits with Santa that will raise donations for the Victoria Branch of the BCSPCA; gift wrapping by donation in support of The Mustard Seed; a Shoebox Project drop-off to support women who are homeless or at-risk of homelessness; and Sensitive Santa events to provide children with Autism and sensory needs a quiet time to interact with Santa before the centre opens in the morning.

We’ll also be granting a Christmas wish for one lucky shopper who’ll win a $5,000 shopping spree at Mayfair.

Mayfair: Bigger and better in 2018

As proud as we are to be Victoria’s favourite mall, we’re always looking for new ways to enhance our customers’ shopping experience. To that end, we’re currently undergoing a $72-million redevelopment that will bring many exciting changes and additions to Mayfair, including: more than half a million square feet in new retail space; new high-quality fashion, lifestyle and specialty apparel retailers; and two new large format stores (to be announced in 2018).

To make accessing and navigating Mayfair easier and more enjoyable, we’re adding the following: two new levels of rooftop parking, accessible off Finlayson Street; a short-term pick-up, drop-off zone and taxi waiting areas off Douglas Street; and new escalator and elevator access to parking areas. Topping it all off will be a comprehensive interior renovation of the property featuring new washrooms, flooring, wayfinding signage, paint, furnishings and enhanced lighting for the common areas.

For 55 years, Mayfair has played a key role in the lives of Vancouver Island residents and visitors. Along the way, we’ve helped create thousands of “Mayfair memories” for shoppers who found that perfect item for themselves or a loved one, or who simply enjoyed the company of friends and family while shopping here.

Today, more than 4 million people each year visit Mayfair and that support has helped make us Vancouver Island’s premier shopping destination and Victoria’s leading fashion-focused shopping centre. We are grateful for your support and your business, and look forward to completing our renovations to better serve you.

We wish you all a very happy holiday season and look forward to seeing you in the weeks and years ahead.
