Events include heart rallies and Big Bike Days. Volunteers aid in all aspects of each event, from helping canvassers pick up kits to hosting refreshment stations to helping facilitate Big Bike rides. Make a big difference by giving a little time. Have fun, play games and/or sports, and be a friend to a young child. Help them learn how to try new things, do their best, and have respect for themselves and others. Each mentor (ages 19 plus) is paired with a young child (Kindergarten to Grade 5). You’ll visit once a week for one hour, same day/time each week during school hours, at Craigflower Elementary School in Saanich. Training and on-going support is provided. Visit bbbsvictoria.com. Victoria Hospice is seeking unit volunteers: Caring and compassionate individuals enhance the quality of care to patients and their families at our 17-bed unit at Richmond Pavilion. Lifetime Networks is seeking an office volunteer. Lifetime Networks is a not-forprofit society that offers support to people with developmental disabilities, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and disabilities under the autism spectrum. We see a future where people with disabilities live safely in their communities, where they can fulfill their potential and enjoy lifelong friendships and support.
