Conductor faces more accusations of sexual assault
SAN FRANCISCO — Six more women have accused conductor Charles Dutoit of sexually assaulting them, including a musician who says the maestro raped her in 1988. The alleged incidents were said to have taken place in Canada, the United States and France.
The new accusers said they were angered by Dutoit’s denial of a report last month of four accusations of sexual assault and wanted to show the scope of his inappropriate behaviour.
Swiss-born Dutoit was artistic director of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra between 1977 and 2002. Through his lawyer, he denied the new accusations.
