You’ll love what is lined up to mark Valentine’s Day

-

Young or old, Valentine’s Day is an opportunity to celebrate your relationship or find a new one. Here are two events to make your heart soar: • Take your date to Night Shift: Wild Romance, the Royal B.C. Museum’s adult-only event on Saturday.

The after-hours event is an opportunity not only to check out the real birds and bees in the museum’s collection, but to shake your tail feather to live music, get your body painted, show your love at a craft station, join in a single mingle and strike a pose in the photo booth.

Performers will be at various spots, including the farm diorama, train station, Old Town and the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibit.

You can also enjoy the nectar of the gods served by Truffles Catering.

Tickets are $40 for those 19 and older. The event runs from 8 p.m. to 11:59 p.m. at the Royal B.C. Museum, 675 Belleville St. For more information, go to royalbcmuseum.bc.ca. • Welcome old friends and meet new ones at the Be a Sweetheart to a Senior Valentine’s Day Concert, hosted by Silver Threads Victoria on Valentine’s Day, Wednesday.

Spend the afternoon listening to music by Bob Meikle, who promises a fun and diverse act.

Admission is by donation. The event runs from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at Silver Threads Victoria, 2340 Richmond Rd. Space is limited, so call to reserve at 250-388-4268. For more information, go to silverthreads.ca.
