Police hunt man who used weapon on Douglas Street

Police are looking for a man who used a weapon to attack someone on Douglas Street on Tuesday.

The victim called 911 after being injured in the 2600 block of Douglas Street, between Bay Street and Hillside Avenue, about noon. By the time officers arrived, the assailant had fled.

The attacker is described as five-foottwo with a medium build, wearing a blue top and brown pants and carrying a red skateboard. He was last seen in 700 block of Hillside Avenue.

The victim was taken to hospital to be treated for his injuries, which police described as non-life threatenin­g.

Police would not say what kind of weapon was used, but said the attack does not appear to be random.
