EDPA issue should not be a battle

-

I do not believe that the heart of the Environmental Development Permit Area issue in Saanich should be an angry battle. A new bylaw that is fair and just for every Saanich resident should be allowed to pass without hostility.

The residents of Saanich must work together with civility to protect our natural resources and not allow organized intolerance and outsiders to commandeer meetings with selfobsessed debate. The EDPA bylaw is punitive to 2,400 properties and will never be accepted by those who pay the taxes and have a vote in future elections.

I hope that mayor and council will vote unanimously in favour of rescinding the flawed EDPA on March 17 and move forward with a plan that will be a respectful balance between people and nature. Mary Ross Saanich
