Make Freeland our next PM

Re: “New RCMP head vows to modernize force,” March 10. Good for Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for appointing Brenda Lucki as the first female commissioner of the RCMP.

I am impressed by how many qualified women he has brought into cabinet and appointed to senior bureaucratic positions. These women are intelligent and will undoubtedly serve our country well.

I suggest Trudeau go one step further and relinquish his position as the leader of the federal Liberal Party to allow our amazing Foreign Affairs Minister Chrystia Freeland to become our next prime minister. She has represented us well on the global stage, far more so than the embarrassing escapades Trudeau has done. David C. Berndt Saanichton
