Non-food crops raised on agricultural land

Well, what is the highest and best use of land?

If agricultural land should be used only for food, should we be opposed to hops and daffodils? That sounds vaguely anti-Easter.

Sears will never be resurrected. Maybe all the empty retail space could be converted to high-security greenhouses. Or the government could use its current high-security facilities and in-house expertise.
