VOLUNTEERING: Volunteer fair on today at Camosun

Volunteer Fair: If you are looking to find a meaningful and enjoyable volunteer opportunity in the community, why not come to the Volunteer Fair on Tuesday, March 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Helmut Hubert Annex (next to the Cafeteria) of the Interurban Campus of Camosun College. Representatives from 16 community agencies will be in attendance to greet people and talk about the numerous engaging volunteer opportunities that they have available. Organized by Volunteer Victoria and hosted by the Co-operative Education and Career Services Department at Camosun, this informative and free event is open to all who are looking for volunteer experience. If you want to meet some interesting people, get out in the fresh air, talk to individuals who are working for innovative and caring community-based organizations, have fun, and in the process possibly find the right volunteer opportunity for you, then please consider yourself invited to attend the free March 27 Volunteer Fair at Camosun Interurban, 4461Interurban Rd.

The Mount Tolmie Community Association: Is seeking board members and a vice-president. Successful candidates must work or live in the MTCA boundary area. They should also have an interest in governance and the community

within the MTCA boundary area. The positions involve an average of 10 hours per month that also includes attending meetings. For more information, please email info@mtca.ca.

Volunteers are needed for our annual Quadra Village Day! Various roles include set-up/take-down, serving ice cream, running children’s activities, face painting, manning barricades and more. Network Friend: We are looking for a volunteer to build a friendship with an independent man in his early 40s with a developmental disability. Some activities he would enjoy doing with a friend include: going for walks, going out for coffee, playing pool, interacting with animals (e.g. walking dogs), boating, fishing, swimming and attending community events.
