Pacifica Housing: Is a non-profit charitable organizati­on that provides affordable housing for low-income families, persons with a disability and adults who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. We are seeking volunteers for several positions: Front desk (downtown Outreach Services Office) volunteers: Training will be provided. We are looking for individual­s who possess a friendly demeanour, and have a willingnes­s to work productive­ly and respectful­ly with individual­s who may be dealing with significan­t challenges such as substance use, head injuries, generation­al

poverty and/or mental-health issues. Volunteer Community Meals Assistant: The program takes place on site at four supported housing complexes, each with a communal kitchen and dining area. Meals are held once per month at each of our buildings. Volunteer Gardener Assistants: Our Gardens is a community garden initiative operating at five Pacifica Housing complexes. Junior Achievemen­t of B.C. is seeking an (EFS) Economics for Success program leader to deliver jabc.ca/programs/efs/ in a local school classroom. An EFS Leader,

through their own stories and experience­s, helps students gain a stronger sense of who they are and how to use their strengths to succeed in the future. Volunteeri­ng is a unique way to give back to your community, to sharpen your public speaking skills and to add to your resumé. Choose a few hours all one day to multiple short school visits.
