The Muse Ensemble (Terence Tam, violin; Lorraine Min, piano; Kenji Fuse, viola; Laura Backstrom, cello) and bassist Bruce Meikle present an extraordin­ary quintet by the 19th century French composer Louise Farrenc. Program includes the sublime A major Violin Sonata of Brahms and Beethoven’s Piano Quartet in E flat major. $35.

Three renowned visionary artists of the next generation combine talents in this eclectic new piano trio, JCT (pronounced junction).

Violinist Stefan Jackiw combines poetry and purity with an impeccable technique. He returns with pianist Conrad Tao and cellist Jay Campbell. Tao, who has been dubbed a musician of probing intellect and open-hearted vision by The New York Times. Approachin­g both old and new works with the same curiosity and emotional commitment, Campbell has been called electrifyi­ng by The New York Times. Recent concerts include performanc­es at Washington Performing Arts, Portland Ovations and The Royal Conservato­ry in Toronto.

The 2018 Eine Kleine Summer Music Festival will be the Victoria debut for the JCT Trio.

Eine Kleine Summer Music Festival is the longest-running summer classical music event in Greater Victoria, and is a not-for-profit, volunteer driven organizati­on presenting worldclass chamber music concerts at affordable prices.
