Exercise is the best medicine
AND IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE BORING
Exercise is often referred to as daunting and sometimes even boring, but as we all know, it is the single most important thing you can do for your health. Our doctors are constantly telling us how important it is, so to make exercise less intimidating and more exciting, here are some tips and ideas to help keep fitness fun.
Hire a trainer to build you a personalized program suited to your goals and needs; join a class or mix it up. If you're finding your routine boring, perhaps try doing it in a different sequence, or try something new. Bring a friend to help with accountability, or meet someone at the gym. Fit for Life makes exercise fun. Read what George, a Fit for Life member, had to say:
“For most of my adult life, I avoided physical fitness in the belief that it was boring and unnecessary. That all changed last year when I discovered Fit for Life. Now you'll find me there three to four times a week, getting in better shape like my family doctor and cardiologist recommended.
No longer do I refer to it as ‘boring’ because of the the variety of fitness equipment and the interesting program the training staff have designed specially for me. When I'm tired of one fitness activity, I move to another. That keeps the workout fresh and interesting. I like that. Over the past two years, my balance and A-fib have improved and I feel fitter and healthier. But despite all my efforts, at Fit for Life, nobody has yet mistaken me for Arnold Schwarzenegger. Maybe it's because I've lost weight!” Learn more about Fit for Life by calling: 250-382-2328, or visiting: #202 (Athlone Court) 2187 Oak Bay Avenue.
