Classic Boat Festival welcomes more than 100 boats to Victoria’s Inner Harbour on Labour Day weekend (Aug. 31 - Sept. 2) and is seeking volunteer ambassadors. Duties include welcoming visitors, collecting donations, and maintaining dock safety. Shifts are four hours and training is provided. Saanich Strawberry Festival — Elk/Beaver Lake, July 8 - 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Volunteers are needed to supervise children’s activities, host the public by providing information and directions and scoop and serve more than 3,000 servings of ice cream as well as other tasks. Volunteers need to be personable, safety conscious, responsible, enjoy working the public, responsive to a variety of situations and follow directions well.
