A delightful story of co-operation

Re: “Thai cave rescue: ‘Everyone is safe,’ ” July 11. We interrupt today’s regularly scheduled programs to bring you a delightful story about international cooperation. Using science, technology, human bravery, determination and innovation, 12 young boys and their soccer coach were dramatically and successfully rescued from a flooded cave.

As this event developed and showcased the best of humanity, the world watched and cheered.

For some unknown reason, we will now return to our regularly scheduled programs of hatred, intolerance, racism, greed and mayhem. The world watches and weeps. Greg Gilbertson Victoria
