Overheated huskies found inside vehicle

-

Despite all the warnings issued each summer about leaving dogs in hot vehicles, animal-control officers and Victoria police had to deal with a pair of overheated huskies.

The dogs were found in distress inside a vehicle about noon June 30 near Cook and Pembroke streets.

“There was a water dish inside, but it was either knocked over or had evaporated,” said Victoria police Const. Matt Rutherford.

The dogs were returned to the owner, but she had to pay animal control $250 for the rescue and $125 because the dogs were unlicensed.
