Customer lashes out at staff over missing tomato

-

A customer reportedly dished out a side order of anger and vulgarities when she discovered her McDonald’s wrap didn’t have tomato.

Victoria police are investigating a July 14 incident at the Hillside Avenue McDonald’s where staff said a woman became upset, threw things and berated workers when she felt her order was wrong.

The incident was caught on surveillance video beginning about 12:35 a.m.

“My understanding from talking with the investigating officer is that the employee offered her a refund, was very polite, and she was already somewhat agitated,” said acting Victoria police spokesman Bowen Osoko. “He said ‘I’ll give you your money back, apologies.’ ”

But the employee said the woman “snapped,” Osoko said. She is reported to have thrown the wrap, mayonnaise packets and more into the employee area.

After that, a man stepped in to calm her down but she still managed to punch an ordering kiosk and break it.

The suspect is described as white, in her early 20s, blonde and about five-foot-two with a slender build. She has tattoos on her left forearm.

She was wearing a dark blue T-shirt with a Disney character on the front, white pajama-style pants and white running shoes.

Anyone with information is asked to call Victoria police at 250-995-7654 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
