Ben coping, says brother Casey

Casey Affleck confirmed that his older brother Ben Affleck is in rehab.

Casey gave reporters an update on Ben while promoting his new movie with Robert Redford, The Old Man and the Gun, on Monday at the Toronto Film Festival.

“He’s an alcoholic, and he’s in rehab,” the 43-year-old said matter-of-factly during an interview with E!.

“He’s recovering, and I think it’s very brave of him to take care of what he needs to take care of.”

Ben, 46, has been transparent about his struggles with alcohol in the past. In March 2017, he shared on his Facebook page that he’d “completed treatment for alcohol addiction,” saying it was “something I’ve dealt with in the past and will continue to confront.”

Ben previously entered rehab in 2001 for alcohol abuse, just months after the debut of his film Pearl Harbor.
