VIEW ROYAL

COUNCIL

Nathan Daisley, 22, security professional nathandaisley.ca Top three issues:

Addressing the town’s need for safe and affordable housing Increase accessibility of transit in order to cut down on vehicle emissions Protect View Royal’s green spaces ensuring our residents have safe and clean access to the outdoors.

One big idea:

I would like to table for discussion a bylaw that would prevent election signs on public property. Residents have raised concerns over the environmental impact and clutter that election signs create. Election signs would still be allowed on private property which will reduce the number of signs a campaign needs and force candidates to canvass more houses if they wish to get their signs out.

1. Innovative and affordable development and housing options, with a focus on community-led planning. 2. Traffic and transportation. 3. Open government increased communication with the public.

One big idea:

I would like to see an improvement on communication with our citizens on both municipal and private projects. A greater focus on open house type events to better inform people of the plans and future ideas of their neighbourhoods. Small information sessions outside the municipal hall meetings and regular hours will allow for more people to become informed and involved in the process. Park improvement meetings in the park, trail improvement plans posted on the trails etc. These small efforts will go a long way in creating an informed public.
