Nanny facing more charges

Police asking for public’s help in sex-crimes case

-

A Central Saanich nanny accused of committing sexual offences against two young brothers in his care is facing three additional child-pornography charges.

In September, Johnathon Lee Robichaud, 30, was charged with sexual interference, two counts of invitation to sexual touching and one count of making sexually explicit material available to a child.

He was released on bail, bound by court conditions that say he must not be in contact with children under 16 or be at recreation centres, daycares, parks and other places children under 16 could reasonably be.

On Friday, Robichaud was charged with accessing, possessing and making child pornography and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

During the investigation, detectives from the Saanich police family protection unit found a significant number of images and videos containing explicit material involving children.

Through those, they have been able to identify another possible victim, and believe there might be more.

Saanich police have asked for the public’s help in identifying more victims.

Robichaud had a variety of jobs and volunteer stints tied to youth groups, church groups, child-care facilities, and beforeand after-school programs.

Anyone whose child has been alone with Robichaud is asked to call 250-475-4756, a dedicated police information line.
