Nov. 15, Liberty Grand Six Canadians—half of them living, half dead—earned a star on the King Street sidewalk but took a pass on the star treatment: recipients Anna Paquin, Donovan Bailey and David Suzuki all waited in line for drinks like everyone else during cocktail hour. Thanks to a broken teleprompter, the bash had an unscripted flavour: host Jann Arden joked about getting lucky after the show, while ex-PM Brian Mulroney mulled another run, quipping, to nervous laughter, “Is it too late for a comeback?”
