Pizzaiolo’s David Mattachion­i (ex-Terroni, Citta) has opened Mattachion­i at 1617 Dupont St., with salads, sandwiches and pizzas to come. It’s down the street from the new Zorra Bar and Grill at 1595 Dupont St.

Andres Marquez, lately of Fonda Lola, will open Reforma 35, “reforming the perception­s of Mexi- can,” in the former Agave y Aguacate at 35 Baldwin St.

Michael Hunter (ex-Reds Wine Tavern) is planning to open Antler later this year at 1454 Dundas St. W. The chef will feature wild foods and farmed game. Not to be confused with the Antler Room.

You’ve had their poutine and their wieners. Now Smoke’s has opened a Burritorie at 218 Ade- laide St. W., serving burritos. Owner Ryan Smolkin plans to open 1,300 Smoke’s branded restaurant­s around the world by 2020.

CLOSINGS

Leor Zimmerman has closed new-style Jewish restaurant Essen at 1282 Dundas St. W.

Woodbine Entertainm­ent Group has closed the Turf Lounge at 330 Bay St. after 12 years.

CHANGES

Daniel Cancino is now head chef at Lamesa Filipino Kitchen, 669 Queen St. W., replacing Rudy Boquila.

EVENTS

Mark McEwan and Donna Dooher are among the chefs coming to the Food Court Social at Wychwood Barns, 601 Christie St. The Sept. 24 event from 7 to 11 p.m. raises money for George Brown College’s Augmented Education program for people who have struggled with mental health and/or addiction.
