An engineering marvel

-

The earth removed during excavation of the marina is being used to build The Nest — the resort’s 18-hole Doug Carrick-designed championship golf course that will fulfill the criteria for Audubon International certification. A further 200-acres is designated a nature preserve that will be home to a multitude of wildlife, from southern flying squirrels to small mammals, birds and butterflies. A 7-kilometre network of groomed trails will meander through woodlands, wetlands and meadows on the treed property, providing yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors.

Residents of the resort community will also have membership in the Lake Club, which will house a wading pool, hot tub and infinity edge lap pool, overlooking the lake. On the lawn, badminton and croquet will be played, and an outdoor patio bar with a cozy fire pit is the place to gather to watch beautiful sunsets over Ontario’s fourth largest lake.

Interested purchasers may select from four tantalizing resort home styles. In the Marina Village, Boardwalk Condos are steps to the action, offering layouts from studios to large penthouses; and Harbour Flats in one- to three-bedroom designs are clustered around a courtyard in a more tranquil setting. Those who desire a spacious ground-related home can choose from Island and Marina Towns featuring sumptuous living and entertaining designs in a private waterside haven.

All of this is only 45 minutes from the Greater Toronto Area, which is accessible by GO Train. The Friday Harbour sales centre is located in Maple, on the grounds of Eagles Nest Golf Club. The sales centre features several three-dimensional detailed topographic community models, as well as a fully furnished model suites.
