Harvick takes Dover

DOVER, DEL.— Jimmie Johnson’s run at a seventh NASACAR Cup title will be on hold for another year. And defending champion Kevin Harvick will advance to chase another.

Harvick, facing a must-win situation, did just that during the AAA 400 at Dover International Speedway on Sunday afternoon.

Johnson’s No. 48 Chevy suffered damage on Lap 102. By the time the issue was fixed on Lap 139, Johnson was 36 laps down and history. He was one of four drivers who failed to advance to the second Chase round.
