‘Prostitute’ reference skating on thin ice

-

Re Osmond second with a little street sense, Oct. 29 As head of a group that collects and distributes skates for kids across Canada, I have come to know many members of the Canadian National Figure Skating Team. I was appalled after reading Rosie DiManno’s article, in which for the second time in three years she compares Canadian Olympic silver medallist, Kaetlyn Osmond, to a prostitute.

Osmond just recovered from a major injury and has made a remarkable comeback. She also earned a silver medal at the Sochi Olympics three years ago. DiManno seems only to want to put her down in her articles rather than focus of the tremendous courage and relentlessness it takes to represent Canada on the international stage.
