Age: 47 Per­sonal: Sin­gle Ed­u­ca­tion: De­grees in math and psy­chol­ogy from Saint Fran­cis Xavier Univer­sity in Nova Sco­tia; bach­e­lor of ed­u­ca­tion from the Univer­sity of Maine. Ca­reer be­fore pol­i­tics: Math teacher. Has worked with First Na­tions teacher ed­u­ca­tion pro­grams and youth and restora­tive jus­tice pro­grams. Po­lit­i­cal ca­reer: First elected to Yukon As­sem­bly in 2011. Cho­sen party leader in Fe­bru­ary 2014. Other ac­tiv­i­ties: Plays gui­tar, drums and sings. Has per­formed with many Yukon bands. Sil­ver and his fel­low Lib­er­als pulled in about 39 per cent of the pop­u­lar vote in Mon­day’s elec­tion.
