Dog thrown from balcony, man charged

A 25-year-old man is facing twocharges after a dog was thrown from the seventh storey of an east-end apartment building on Monday.

Toronto police and the city’s animal services were called to 40 Firvalley Crt. in Scarboroug­h at noon on Monday.

Const. Victor Kwong said the dog, which residents said was a beagle, had broken limbs but was reported to have still been breathing at the time 911 was called. The dog later died.

Adrian Foster is facing one count of kill/maim/wounding dog, and one count of wilfully causing unnecessar­y suffering to an animal.
